Wire is one of the most pivotal tools in the design process of bonsai. It allows the manipulation of branches to construct creative designs and innovative work. Wire is a must for the bonsai practitioner’s toolbox. Our copper wire is sourced and hand-annealed locally in Australia, making this an entirely local Australian-made product.

Annealed copper wire has the benefit of hardening as it is applied to the tree, making copper’s holding strength superior to other types of wire. The annealing process involves heating the wire until the crystalline structure becomes realigned. This softens the wire considerably, making it functional and easy to apply to your trees. As it is bent, it hardens and fixes your branches into a steady hold.

Our copper is measured using the Standard Wire Gauge (SWG) and is available as 1kg rolls in gauges 6 - 22.
