Raffia is a traditional tool used to bind and protect a branch during the bending process of large or fragile branches. The raffia provides compression and protection, distributing the force of the bend along a greater length and surface area of the branch. This creates more control and decreases failure of the vascular system. Because raffia is an organic product, it allows the tree to breathe and the vascular system to function normally while it is under compression.  

When it comes to structural branch work, raffia is a must-have in your tool kit to enable you to have success in your design endeavors. At up to 1.5 metres long, our raffia is of the highest quality in length and strength. A long piece of raffia will provide you the flexibility and ease to work seamlessly, and strong raffia creates the tightest hold possible without fear of tearing or breaking.
